Privacy Policy

Sparq, an ATERNA LLC product. Effective July 13, 2026.

Sparq helps you decide what to do tonight. To do that well, we collect the least information needed to find real places and events near you and to remember what you like. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.

What we collect

• Account details. Your email address (to sign you in), and an optional display name and profile photo you choose to add.
• Precise location. When you start a session and grant permission, we use your device location to find open venues and events near you at that moment. We request location only while you are using the app, never in the background. You can decline and enter a city manually instead.
• Your taste signals. Your onboarding answers and how you interact with suggestions (view, pass, lock, complete, rate) build a private preference profile that tunes future recommendations for you.
• Subscription status. If you subscribe to Sparq+, Apple processes the payment. We receive only your subscription status, never your card details.
• Basic technical data. Standard information needed to operate the service reliably.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not use advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.
• We do not share your preference profile with third parties.

Service providers

We use a small set of trusted providers strictly to run the app: Supabase (accounts, database, and photo storage), Google Places and Ticketmaster (to find venues and events), OpenWeather (to factor in tonight's weather), Anthropic through ATERNA's routing service (to compose your plans from real nearby options), RevenueCat and Apple (to manage subscriptions), Vercel (hosting), and Resend (to send your sign-in emails). Each processes only what it needs for its function.

Your controls

• Delete your account at any time in Settings. This permanently removes your profile, preference data, saved plans, and history.
• Location can be turned off in iOS Settings; the app still works with manual city entry.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, associated personal data is removed from our systems.

Children

Sparq is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

If we update this policy, we will revise the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
